Tip 1. Preparation Before Loading
- Check the truck-related systems such as the power system of the meat transport refrigerated truck, to confirm
that the vehicle is able to start normally. - Check the time setting of the temperature recorder on the refrigerated truck.
- Check that there is no damage inside and outside the compartment.
- Ensure that the compartment and the sealing strip are in good condition. The doors must be securely locked, and
the sealing strip must be well sealed. - Pre-cool the refrigerated vehicle.
- 5.1 In the driver’s cab, start the truck refrigeration unit and temperature monitoring & alarm
system; - 5.2 During the pre-cooling process, the compartment door must be closed to prevent the outside air from
affecting the refrigeration effects and prolong the time required for the precooling of the meat
transport refrigerated vehicle. - 5.3 Turn the refrigeration unit off when the refrigerated truck is pre-cooled to the coldest temperature
required by meat transport. - 5.4 After the refrigeration system is stopped, the frozen meat can be loaded into the truck, and the
loading must be fast to prevent the outflow of cold air.
- 5.1 In the driver’s cab, start the truck refrigeration unit and temperature monitoring & alarm
Tip 2. Loading Operation
- Start the temperature recording and monitoring system before loading. When the pre-cooling temperature of the
meat transport refrigerated truck reaches the range of -16℃–18℃, it’s time for loading. - After the refrigerated truck is loaded with frozen meat, close the door to make sure that the door is tight and
without any leakage. At the same time, make sure that the cargo box door is securely locked. - Start the refrigerated truck reefer system.
- Check the temperature (-16℃–18℃) displayed both on the truck refrigeration system control panel and by the
temperature monitoring system. - The loading time must be completed within 5 minutes, and the interval between re-opening the door must be more
than 10 minutes.
Tip 3. Refrigerated Transportation of Frozen Meat
- During meat refrigerated transport, the door of refrigerated truck shall not be opened at will if there is no
abnormal situation. - Transporters and deliverymen should pay attention to the control panel of the refrigerated truck temperature
control system and alarm system in the cab to ensure that the temperature of the compartment during
transportation meets the meat storage conditions (within -16–18 degrees Celsius). - During refrigerated truck meat transport, if an abnormal situation occurs, the transporter must immediately
activate the emergency plan.
Tip 4. Unloading Operations
- Once the refrigerated truck reaches its destination, first switch off the refrigeration system and print the
temperature record during transportation. Send the frozen meat together with the temperature record data during
transportation to the customer. - When opening the door of a refrigerated truck, pay attention to safety, and do not let the back door of the
vehicle injure nearby passers-by and passing vehicles.
Tip 5. Daily Maintenance of Meat Transport Refrigeration System
- When operating the refrigeration unit, keep always observing the oil level of the truck refrigeration compressor
and the cleanliness of the oil. If the compressor oil is dirty or the oil level drops, solve it in time to avoid
adverse lubrication. - 2.Frequently check the defrosting of the evaporator of the refrigeration unit. Whether the defrosting is timely
or not will affect the refrigeration effect and cause liquid back in the refrigeration system. The refrigeration unit used in the meat trailer must have a defrost function. The refrigeration unit reduces the temperature inside the truck box to the freezing point. Air outlet is with lower temperature, and then frost
forms which seriously blocks the air outlet and affects refrigeration effects. Therefore, in order to ensure the transportation temperature of the frozen meat, the refrigerated truck needs to use a refrigerating unit with
defrosting function, which is heated by an electric heating wire to melt the frost at the air outlet. During the
defrosting process, the evaporator of the refrigerating unit stops working. The defrosting time varies according to the length of different brands of refrigeration units. The defrosting time of Guchen Thermo TR-550
Refrigeration unit is about 15 minutes (adjustable). - Frequently observe the compressor and check its exhaust temperature. During seasonal operation, pay special
attention to the system’s operating status, and adjust the system’s liquid supply and condensing temperature in
time. - The refrigeration compressor needs regular maintenance: the refrigerating oil and filter drier should be
replaced after 30 days of operation, and then replaced after half a year of operation (depending on the actual
situation). For systems with higher cleanliness, The refrigerating oil and filter drier should also be replaced
after half a year of operation.
